Though his performances could be overshadowed by his turbulent personal life, Mickey Rooney was one of Hollywood’s most celebrated and enduring performers with a career that spanned nine decades. He had matured past boyish roles when he made his first appearances on Suspense in 1949, but he turned in memorable performances as darker, more complex characters.
