Carter has parlayed his success into more television shows, some of which he now owns and produces. He’s also authored books and builds playgrounds across the county with his non-profit called Carter’s Kids. He’s also invested heavily back into his home town with the launch of Bonobo Winery on Old Mission Point in Traverse City a few years ago. I first met Carter six years ago when I was asked to create portraits of him for an advertising campaign. We’d stayed in touch off and on since then, and when I asked him to be a guest on the podcast while I was out in Los Angeles, he mentioned that we could shoot at his home in Malibu.
