Maritime Day Press Conference Introducing the Energizing American Shipbuilding Act

Informações:

Synopsis

On National Maritime Day 2018, a group of bipartisan congressional members came together to introduce the Energizing American Shipbuilding Act.  This legislation introduced by Congressman John Garamendi (D-CA) and cosponsored by Congressman Duncan Hunter (D-CA), Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS), Congressman Alan Lowenthal (D-CA), and Congressman Donald Norcross (D-NJ) aims to increase the number of American ships carrying liquified natural gas.  The law if passed would require a very small percentage of LNG exported from America be carried aboard American flag vessels. Just this one small requirement would require the construction of at least 50 new LNG vessels.
