On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) is joined by Florida Panthers Historian Francisco Oporta(@fjojr and @FLACatsHistory) to the show to discuss the 6-4 loss to the Minnesota Wild as they complete a season sweep. Florida was once again without Captain Aleksander Barkov and lost William Lockwood in the middle of the first period after a fight with Brandon Duhaime. The tone was set when William Lockwood hits Marc-Andre Fleury behind the net. As far as pace, Florida had a hard time dictating it. Friday night saw a multitude of penalties for only 41:01 of 5-on-5. The Panthers Penalty kill went 1/6 on the night while outscoring Minnesota 4-0 at even strength. Minnesota was able to get bodies in front of the net to take the goaltenders eyes away while also getting the Panthers penalty killers out of position to get quality shooting lanes.
