For the first three quarters of action, it was all about the starting unit. They played with a tenacity on defense that had not been seen from them in quite some time and they did enough on offense to give their bench unit a strong lead to work with.  Unfortunately, the bench unit was not as dominant as they have been throughout preseason, but they did just enough to squeak out a win over the Bulls.  The Nuggets preseason is now officially over and they will now head to Los Angeles to take on the Clippers on the night of October 17th.

The Nuggets will now prepare for the 2018 NBA Draft with the 14th pick as ammunition. The real question is not who Denver drafts at 14, but if they even draft there at all. With a very tight cap sheet, few additional roster spots, and the 14th pick in what is considered to be a 13 player draft, Tim Connelly and his staff will have to get creative with how they use their pick. Denver could trade back, trade up, pick at 14, or just trade the pick entirely to move off of one of Kenneth Faried, Darrell Arthur, or Wilson Chandler's contracts. Murray took a massive leap forward as an offensive player and NBA contributor. He is becoming a lethal shooter, improved on his handles, and looked significantly more explosive. He has the makings of an ideal offensive running partner with Nikola Jokic and all of the skills to be one of the best bucket-getters in the NBA in time. While his offensive game was terrific all season, his issues mainly lie on the defensive end of the floor. Murray struggled in every facet of defense and has a long ways to go before becoming serviceable on that end of the floor.

Now that the Denver Nuggets season has come to an explosive end after a 112-106 overtime loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on the final day of the season, there are lots of questions that remain as Denver heads into the 2018 offseason.
