Meanwhile, back in Judah, Jehoiakim continues his reign in Jerusalem. Seduced by promises of support from Egypt, Jehoiakim stops making his tribute payments to Babylon. During Daniel's second year of schooling, Nebuchadnezzar has a disturbing dream. He forgets his dream, yet the trauma from it bothers him.
