Erasing Ab-pa

Synopsis

Erasing AB-PA is a forum to speak to professionals from the legal and psychological community along with targeted parents of Attachment Based Parental Alienation (AB-PA) to better understand and cope with AB-PA. Parental Alienation is when one parent, typically the parent with majority custody, attempts to separate the children from the other parent as punishment for a divorce or separation. These parental alienation techniques include attacking the other parent's character or lifestyle, ignoring the positive influence the other parent has on the children or endearing themselves to the child in order for the child to choose them over the other parent. Numerous techniques and tools are utilized by the alienating parent. We plan to use this podcast as a means to bring together those affected by Attachment Based Parental Alienation to bring awareness to the problem. The goal is to change the family court system to recognize that AB-PA exists and is a huge problem that affects millions of children, parents and extended families.

  • Conversation with Nikki

    28/03/2019 Duration: 01h16min

This episode of Erasing AB-PA is a conversation with Nikki, a targeted parent who is currently alienated from her only child, her daughter. Nikki is not her real name, but rather a nickname that fiends and family have called her prior to meeting her ex-husband. Nikki's daughter is almost grown and will soon be going off to college which offers hope that a reconnection may happen once she is away from the Alienators home. Nikki is unsure if she will attend her daughter's high school graduation or if she will even be invited. Although her story is still being written and she has not reconnected with her daughter yet, Nikki remains hopefully and does offer some advice to other targeted parents at the end as to how to deal with being the target of AB-PA.If you would like to offer suggestions for future episodes or to tell you own story, please email me: VincentSorvino@Gmail.comRemember, every child deserves to grow up knowing that both parents love them.

  • Conversation with Heather Jan: Part 1

    14/03/2019 Duration: 37min

This episode of Erasing AB-PA I speak with Heather Jan, a targeted parent who was alienated from her oldest daughter. Heather's story is a little different than most in that the alienator and narcissist in her situation was not the father of her children, but the step-mother was the driving force behind the alienation. Also, Heather's son rejected the alienation despite splitting custody time with both mom and dad.Heather does not mind me using her name but asked me to remove the names of her children, their father and the step-mom when she referred to them. Although Heather made her best efforts to refer to these people as "our daughter" or "my ex" she would sometimes slip and use their real names. In order to protect their identity, we have chosen to edit out their names and replaced it with just a split second of silence. If you hear silence, please know that the name was mentioned and it was removed. As with so many alienated parents that want to share their story, these conversations can run over an hour.
