In this episode, amongst many things, Dave podcasts in the rain, in the comforts of his Dodge Caravan, on the Northway, also known as the New York State Thruway, as he heads southbound to home from Adirondack community college. Dave discusses several the possibility of going back to school and majoring in broadcast media production. If he were to do that for two years, he would leave with an associates degree. He could use that degree to find a job in the industry, I could just take all the knowledge, freelance, and, of course, keep on working on Dumbing it Down with Dave, the podcast, and Dave’s Fitlife, the YouTube channel. While driving in his Dodge Caravan on I-80 and I-81 in Pennsylvania, on his way to a go-kart parts store, Dave talks about being an uncle… eventually. First there’s the “little David” childhood background story about growing up in Brooklyn NY. He talks about Speed Racer, Racer X, Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars. These we’re contributing factors in his growing up with auto racing. He discusses names you give children that affect their career choices. Of course there’s the obligatory mention of C-friends, acquaintances, energy vampires and depleeters. Along the way he gets “on track” and “gets to it”. He talks about his fondness of local roads versus interstates. While doing that he notices a gentleman’s club with an interesting famous name, a delicious looking roadside restaurant and a small local rural bowling alley. Traveling south from Rensselaer NY, through Castleton, Stuyvesant, Stockport, Hudson and Catskill on 9J, on his way home , Dave records a Dumbcast,in a carcast, in a Podcast. You’re riding shotgun with Dave. Sit comfortably and enjoy the ride in his 2008 KIA Rio LX. You’re pretty safe here… for the most part. We do a mileage report as the Kia also known as a porta poddy crosses 324,910 miles. Woo hoo. It’s 38° and absolutely sunny during the drive as we’re southbound along the Hudson River and parallel to the Amtrak railroad tracks as it passes me by. Pretty impressive. After a brief explanation that no one cares about, Dave gets to his weigh in. He’s been eating strictly Carnivore since Mid-October of 2023. He started at 297lbs and is now down to 253.6. That’s almost 44lbs. Woo hoo. But as a pragmatic we know it’s not about the numbers. Dave looks at total fitness a different way. Dave uses the measure of activity to measure FITness. The more active you are chances are you’re healthier

What sucks your energy down? Is it a who? Is there a why? Mine are obstacles. I’ll overcome many of them, but the immovable ones drain me to zero. Then they linger around like an evil spirit in my brain, causing all sorts of problems. Problems that affect my mental and emotional well being. Problems that affect my productivity in life and keep me from moving forward. I’m aware if it. I’m embracing it and dealing with it. I’m not taking medication for it. I’m acknowledging it.
