On Ending: Our Last Podcast
17/05/2017 Duration: 01h01minWe’re going on a break! With our hosts Emeli, Ryan and Jeremy pursuing new creative projects, adventures and life-changes in the next six months, this will be our last podcast (at least for the time being). We met at the studio to record a ten-minute quick update but instead spontaneously recorded a full-length episode after being inspired by the ending of the show. The reality is that everything you start will inevitably have an ending and many endings end up messy. We discuss how to let go and handle endings in a dignified way that creates space for new love and experiences. Thank you to anyone that has supported, listened or shared our conversations over the last year. We hope that you had many “aha” moments and that you were inspired to connect to your friends and family through creating spaces of vulnerability and authenticity. Love the Collective Potential Podcast Team: Emeli, Jeremy, Ryan, Dylan and Jodi. See what we’re up to on Inst

Nicole formed the Rogue and Rogue Foundation to address the stigma around mental health treatment following her recovery from Anorexia Nervosa. Emeli Paulo — The Heroes Journey
08/11/2016 Duration: 01h04minDavid Bowie wrote a song about them, Chris Lilley made a telly show about them and we all would love to be one. In this episode, we explore the question: who are your heroes? What do you love about them and how have they shaped you to become the hero of your own life? Joseph Campbell, a mythologist and the writer of The Hero's Journey once said: “A hero is a person that has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself”. The Hero's Journey is a story structure that can be seen through different cultures and time periods. From the stories of the Buddha, to King Arthur's tales, to Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, the common theme and symbols in these stories influence our lives. We take qualities of these heroes as compass directions to inspire the people we become.

What is God? Open Your Mind with Evelyn
26/06/2016 Duration: 49minThe word God has had a pretty bad wrap in our modern scientific age. The Christian mythology of the "White bearded man in the sky" has become outdated and no longer gives meaning to our lives. Since then, we often feel like we don't belong in the world, as if the ape that became intelligent was an accident. However, many other cultures have had different views on what god means – and gaining a greater understanding of how we are supported by our natural environment can give us a sense of gratitude, awe, respect and wellbeing. Physicists often tell us that we are in relationship to everything, yet we rarely experience it. In this episode, we open ourselves up to the mystery and play with what God means to us with the help of Evelyn, a dear friend Jez met on his travels in St Lucia.

"Why should we care? Being citizens of the world with Elliot Costello"
18/06/2016 Duration: 52minYou. Me. Us. Them. While the mass media fuels a state of fear and politics reverts to looking after the 1%, we ask the question: Why should I care? What can I do? Discussing everything from entrepreneurship, societal values and ideology, to religion and politics and evil vs. good; Elliot Costello passionately speaks about how we are one human kind and the impact we are all capable of making - and should. Before the internet, only a small number of people were able to travel and experience others cultures and traditions. For most of our human existence, we've been separated from different cultures by time and space. Historically, our experience of each other has been based on war and fear. That's all changing. The ability of the internet to give us instant information, images and videos of other people's way of life is bringing down these cultural barriers. We are beginning to see at increasing HD definition the ways we are the same. And how human it is to want t

Anger, hurt and inequality in Australia: Learning to be comfortable with the uncomfortable with Nayuka Gorrie
05/06/2016 Duration: 01h19minThis podcast is about what happens when you persevere through passivity, ignorance or avoidance of difficult conversations to really listen to the experience of others. We cover questions that you've been too scared to ask, we explain things like 'privilege', 'racism' and what a 'treaty' is, simply, so you can understand. As we allow ourselves to be uncomfortable and listen openly we go on a journey of human emotion - anger, hurt, defensiveness, sadness, hope, empathy, connection - peppered with humour of course, and the realness you've grown to love in Collective Potential. This is one of the most important podcasts we have done because it records a n

Common-Unity: what unifies us? With Justin Gerard
29/05/2016 Duration: 51minSeeing the differences between other people as "not us" is an easy trap to fall into. We brought Justin Gerard, a former U.S Marine, world explorer and serial language learner to share what he has learnt living with different people and cultures about what unifies us as humans.
