Synopsis

Maia is a songwriter, artist, producer, and radio host based in New York City. She's also a singer, multi-instrumentalist and frequent tinkerer, who has spent time in Haiti and Colombia studying folkloric music and drumming. She has spent the past decade riding her bike around Brooklyn, interviewing your new favorite bands for BTR, making show posters, befriending street cats, making records, touring the country, and filming everything along the way.Maia can frequently be found playing around town -- and elsewhere -- with her latest musical project, Kid In The Attic, or playing various instruments while on tour with Mirah. In addition to hosting BTR Live Studio and The Folk Wave, Maia contributes to Tom Tom Magazine and Homoground.com, among others. She has interviewed over 800 artists for BTR.
