Join Pastor Stuart as we continue in our series, Let's Get Spiritual. In our fifth lesson, we turn to the Apostle Paul's Letter to the Corinthians 12:1-11 for a reminder of the nature and purpose of . . . "Spiritual Gifts". In this lesson, we see: The Holy Spirit gives gifts to all who are in Christ. While there are a variety of gifts, they are all given for the good of the church. The Spirit decides what gift(s) each believer receives. At the same time, we are encouraged to earnestly desire what is best for the church. The Spirit empowers these gifts so that we are built up in Christ. Ultimately, the gifts of the Spirit point us to Jesus. Therefore, we ought to be eager for the gifts of the Spirit to be used to build up the church. So, let’s believe the Spirit gifts each of us to grow the church into maturity in Christ. The Spirit removes this veil and frees us to gaze on God’s glory. When we gaze on God’s glory, we can’t help but be changed. We see God’s glory most clearly in the face of Christ. Therefore, for those who don’t yet believe, ask the Spirit to remove the veil so you can know and experience the glory of Christ. And, for those who do believe, ask the Spirit to show you more of the glory of Christ. So, by the work of the Spirit, let’s gaze upon Jesus to know and experience his glory.
