Synopsis

On August 9th, 1969 twenty six year old actress Sharon Tate, the pregnant wife of acclaimed movie director Roman Polanski, is found murdered along with four other people at her Los Angeles home. Many view it as the moment that marked the end of the late 60s peace and love era. The following night grocery store owner Leno LaBianca and his wife Rosemary were the next victims of murders. Months later it would be revealed the crimes were committed by members of a cult led by a man named Charles Manson. In the days, weeks and months that would follow it would be revealed that Manson’s motivation was a desire to kick start an apocalyptic race war. It was a race war he called Helter Skelter. And with that, rock and roll music would forever play a part in the story of Charles Manson. In this episode you’ll hear the entire story of Charles Manson’s connection to music, the famous musicians of the late 60s and how they all played a role, in Manson’s mind, in his crimes.
