Most likely you’ve seen old episodes of the Disneyland television series where Walt Disney and his Imagineers were building the first ever Audio-Animatronic figures like the Enchanted Tiki Room birds, President Lincoln, pirates, and many more. And that’s how it used to work. Nobody was building animatronics at that time, so The Walt Disney Company and the folks at WED Enterprises had to do it for themselves. A lot of people still believe the animatronic figures we see in new attractions are being made at Walt Disney Imagineering. But that’s rarely the case these days. Enter Garner Holt, who has been creating the greatest animatronics in the world since 1977, and has been building them for Disney for several decades. Whether it's small animated figures on parade floats, a giant Maleficent dragon, or anything in between, there’s a good chance that Garner Holt Productions had their hands in the project. Listen a
