Context both Historically and LiteraryThe historical context is the original author and audience being addressed. As well as the original situation and/or circumstances that caused the author to write the passage. This is the historical context. Without the historical context we will not be able to properly understand the situation or circumstances the author and their audience are facing.The literary context is the original language and use of words that the author and his audience would have understood.
