He started working for The Walt Disney Company as a balloon seller at Disneyland which eventually led him to working on a whole slew of projects including the opening of EPCOT, the opening of Disneyland Paris, and the opening of Hong Kong Disneyland. When Tom began his work at Imagineering, then WED Enterprises, he was working alongside some of the Disney Legends that helped create Disneyland. Also, considering Tom’s long tenure with the company, he worked with quite a few different sets of management and corporate leaders at Imagineering and The Walt Disney Company.
