The income tax as we know it today was implemented in 1913. That mean that no one in today’s workforce has known any other system of funding the Federal government. People just assume that the income tax is the only way to do it because it’s the only way they’ve known. And of course, the politicians in DC are all too happy to reinforce that idea in people’s minds.But it doesn’t have to be that way.
