Heather Olson, Managing Director at Berkadia, specializes in Affordable Housing debt originations with a focus on developments that utilize low-income housing tax credits and tax-exempt bonds. Since 2012, she has been directly involved in over $1 billion of loan financings from various capital sources, including Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, life companies, and HUD. Prior to joining Berkadia, Ms. Olson served as Senior Director at Walker & Dunlop. She joined W&D through the acquisition of CWCapital in 2012. While at W&D, Ms. Olson assisted in originating Freddie Mac’s first ever Tax-Exempt Loan (“TEL”), a debt structure that leads the industry in 4% LIHTC debt financing. Ms. Olson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Kennesaw State University and earned her Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in 2014
