On Wednesday, January 5, 2022, host Dcn. Mike Beauvais and RED-C Director of Education and Development, Dr. Thaddeus Romansky, took a dive into the Second Vatican Council by first assessing the historical events and culture in the world that preceded the council. up to the formulation of the Vatican II documents during this episode of RED-C Roundup. They both discussed what Vatican II was and what it actually says, in contrast with how it has been interpreted and implemented in the decades that have followed. In particular, they gave brief overviews of the constitutions Gaudium et Spes, Lumen Gentium, Dei Verbum, and Sacrosanctum Concilium. Today’s episode is the first of multiple steps that our RED-C Apostolate will be taking this year to increase our understanding of the Second Vatican Council.
