Radiotherapy to the primary tumor has been a controversially discussed intervention in patients with newly diagnosed metastatic prostate cancer. Results of the STAMPEDE trial indicate that overall no survival advantage can be achieved by the addition of radiotherapy however subgroups might actually have a benefit. Here, patients with low volume, oligometastatic disease were shown to benefit in a predefined subgroup analysis.
