Overview – The Fickle Heart. 1 Timothy 3:18-24. In our sermon today I talked about the fickle heart that John describes in this section. For John says in verse 20, if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. But then in verse 21 he says, beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. How can our hearts condemn us, but then not condemn us? People’s hearts are fickle, there’s no doubt about it, but what does this look like in the life of a spiritual child of God, and in their walks with God and Christ? I talk about this as the main part of today’s sermon, plus a couple other points that John makes in this section.
