Spring 2020 ushered in a new reality for many, and now over a year later we’re getting our first snapshot of just how things have changed. According to the National Student Clearinghouse’s spring 2021 Current Term Enrollment Estimates report, challenging times forced higher education enrollment to hit new lows for a 3.5 percent annual decline. Conversely, however, the same uncertainty seems to have driven students back into graduate classrooms, bringing in 124,000 new students for a 4.6 percent increase in graduate enrollment.
