Mary is widely published in newspapers, magazines, and anthologies, and the author of seven books, including the award winning Refined By Fire: A Journey of Grief and Grace, and the recently released Called to Be Creative: A Guide to Reigniting Your Creativity. When Mary's husband, a five-year cancer survivor, died following a heart stent surgery in March 2012, four of her eight children still lived at home.
