When God initiated the events that make up the Christmas story, he began with an angelic visitation with an elderly priest named Zacharias. When his miracle son, John the Baptist, was born, his tongue was loosed and he breaks forth in prophetic song. This prophetic song gives God's perspective of what He is doing as the wonders of the Christmas story unfold from the birth of Christ, and gives meaning and perspective right through to the end of Luke's gospel.
