Episode 31: San Antonio Women of Rock Volume 1This episode, we’re focusing on some great San Antonio bands with female vocalists. Huge shout out to Nina Diaz of Girl in a Coma who’s already in the studio recording her solo album and another shout out to Phanie and Jenn from Girl in a Coma for starting their riot girl side project, Fea. This doesn’t mean the band’s breaking up, just exploring new things. Honestly, I’m hopeful in the idea that this means that they’re using these projects to work things out creatively and return to Girl in a Coma refreshed and raring to go. Now, I’ve got to apologize that there won’t be any GIAC songs in this episode, but I don’t have any releases to play them on the show. It seems to me that when a band is on a label, it makes it that much more difficult to work with them. This isn’t a reflection on the band, just the process and red tape that comes with dealing with legal entities and people who are trying to watch their backs and are being use to getting taken advantage of.
