Enduring Fruit and Temporary Gifts *1 Corinthians 13:8-13 If cessationist, -Test Biblical argument for why. -Show love, not fear, toward continuationists. If continuationist, -Word of God as foundation; Jesus as focus. -Clear guidelines and wisdom of practice. 2. Why? Proclaim and Display Jesus *1 Peter 4:8-11 -Glorify God through Jesus Christ. 2b. Prophecy and Speaking in Tongues (more next week) *1 Corinthians 14:2-5 -Build up the Church Response 1. Confess that Jesus is Lord = *Have you repented of sin and trusted in Jesus for salvation? 2. Pursue Love = *How is God transforming your life from the inside out? What fruit are you harvesting that will make an eternal impact on others? 3. Desire Spiritual Gifts = *How is God using you to speak about and show Jesus to our Church and to the world?
