With the great volatility in unemployment benefits, Jason and Dan discussed the not-so-alarming news of increases in the number of Americans seeking unemployment benefits. Unemployment aid applications increased just 4,000 last week; an increase that keeps applications at a sustainable level suggesting that March’s decreased hiring may be temporary. The Fed has reported that economic growth has been moderate across the United States in late February and March due to a strengthening housing recovery and increased auto sales. All 12 of our Federal bank’s showed moderate or modest growth, and growth even accelerated in the New York and Dallas banking districts.
