In this episode of The Web of Queer, we start with a review of the Eleventh Doctor two-parter The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon and have a broad discussion on heteronormativity.   In The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon, we talk about Canton and some of the surprises in this story. We also talk about The Slap, and try to puzzle out River’s motivations during this part of her story arc.   For our heteronormativity conversation, we talk about what it is, where it comes from, and how it effects what we expect of the characters we see on screen.
