James 5:13-18 Our text tells us three things about Elijah: he had a nature like ours, he prayed fervently, and the rain changed in answer to his prayers. We find this story in 1 Kings 17-18. Further background about the rain is found in Deuteronomy 28:15, 16, 23-24; 1 Kings 8:35-36; and 2 Chronicles 7:13-14.
