Moses heard God’s voice coming from the burning bush, “Take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground” (Exodus 3:5). This verse comes to mind as we soak in John 17 over the next two Sundays. This passage allows us to eavesdrop into the personal, profound, and passionate prayer of God the Son talking to God the Father on the night before the crucifixion. This is holy ground.
