All My Friends Are In Bar Bands

Episode 42: My Friend Marcus Whale

Informações:

Synopsis

From choirboy to heathen, Marcus Whale has become one of Sydney's most consistently interesting singers, songwriters and performers. He pops and locks with Collarbones, raves to the grave with Black Vanilla and leads a one-man army as a newly-minted solo artist - all the while delivering challenging, unique takes on electronically-tinged outsider music. During an afternoon of lawn bowls and live music at the Petersham Bowling Club's Bad Day Out back in January, Whale talks through his journey of post-rock forums, bad sax solos and the vision that lead to his debut solo album, Inland Sea. Marcus' debut single, My Captain, is out now. It can be streamed here: https://soundcloud.com/marcuswhale/my-captain-2 Support for All My Friends Are in Bar Bands comes from Sad Grrrls Club. "The Bands Are Breaking Up" is a 14-track compilation put out by Sad Grrrls Club Records as recorded at the titular mini-festival in Newcastle back in January 2016. Featuring songs from Nathan Seeckts, Jamie Hay, Jen Buxton, Lucy Wilson
