Synopsis

Influenced by Stevie Wonder’s groove to Burt Bacharach's relaxed, jazzy yet poppy sensibilities, mix in contemporary artists such as John Legend, Flying Lotus, James Blake, Janelle Monae and Thundercat, then you get an idea of Gabriel Royal’s trademark sound-- the result being an easy listening modern chamber pop over the cello. Gabriel released his self titled album in 2016 - along with his single and music video for “Say It’s Right”, directed by Blake Farber, who has worked with Beyoncé and other Top 40 artists. In the last 6 months Gabriel has performed at Austin’s SXSW Festival, Soho House, Ludlow House, and Sofar Sounds. Gabriel most recently supported Bad Bad Not Good at their sold-out show in Brazil (1500 cap). Gabriel is on his way to Europe for the first time this Fall where is set to play in Eindhoven and the So What’s Next Festival in Amsterdam. •••• The B-Side Podcast is produced by Charlie Hoxie, Kecia Cole, Ro Johnson and Sachar Mathias; recorded by Onel Mulet; and edited by Khyriel Palmer and
