Gail S. Smyth, a sole law practitioner, admitted in California, specializes in real property, loan servicing, and title issues.  Employed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation during the banking crisis in the early 90s and also again during the 2009 crisis, she supervised an in-house litigation department and later was assigned to several bank receiverships in California, Nevada and Idaho, managing the assets and litigation of the failed banks. She spent eight years working in the mortgage default servicing industry where she headed a sub-prime servicing unit handling title issues pre-funding through post REO sale, established an internal title claim tracking system, managed outside litigation, and developed settlement strategies and workouts.
