Car Chats With Kelley

One Moment at a Time

Synopsis

Feeling chatty this morning. I thought I would share a little bit about what has been working for me in term of being present and reducing the feelings of being overwhelmed or anxious. With a so much on our plates these days, it’s hard to stay present. Always moving from one moment to the next. I definitely don’t have these techniques down. That’s why it’s a practice. But I can say, lately I have really been able to maintain my presence and awareness. I invite you to think about where you are. Are you dwelling on the past? Anxious about the future? Letting the past define you? Letting worry of the future over take you? If you are, which we all do from time to time, then you are taking yourself out of the here and now. “Now” is all we ever really have. It’s all that’s real. The rest is the future which hasn’t happened or a memory - neither of which “are”. Yoga brings us present. But you don’t have to be on a mat or in class to do this. Does it mean we don’t plan for future events? Does it mean we just wing it
