To Fast or To Feast?

Synopsis

Years ago, I joined a week long silent retreat and it fell on a Holy Week. It was actually a retreat for young people to consider religious life (it was the Jesuits). It was a memorable experience of mine and one of the few things that cherished was about a reflection about FASTING. In this episode, I will share to you that fasting is actually a FEAST. This is what I have read on that retreat: “Fast from judging others; feast ON THE Christ dwelling in them. Fast from emphasis on differences; feast in the unity of all life. Fast from apparent darkness; feast on the reality of life. Fast from words that pollute; feast on the phrases that purify. Fast from discontent; feast on gratitude.
