Hearing a diagnosis of cancer is one of life's scariest experiences and can be a defining moment in our lives. Our immediate reaction is to start thinking the worst and succumbing to fear. Or, we may go into denial, earnestly believing that this cannot possibly be happening to us. But the reality is that it is happening, and one way or another we are forced to cope with it. There are various decisions one must make and what treatment option, if any, we are going to accept. When faced with this decision, our guest, Kathy Shorten, chose to take a different route than the standard treatment of chemo and radiation. Diagnosed with breast cancer, Kathy went on her own solitary journey to find alternatives and found them. Our show this week features her story and how she ultimately triumphed over her cancer.
