Synopsis

The pride of life, lust of the eyes, and lust of the flesh can be described or viewed as anything that is “of the world.  That would mean that anything that leads to arrogance, ostentation or flashiness, exaltation or pride in self, presumptions about God’s word, boasting about the knowledge you have, how great you are with the word, or that you alone hold the true message of God are all classified as the pride of life, lust of the eyes, and/or lust of the flesh. The pride and lusts of life are willing displays of how many are willing and eager to disregard consequences, forfeiture of inheritance, and no belief in God’s word in order to appease fleshly wantonness.  In other words most are apt to teach what Jesus said but not willing to practice the walk of Christ.  Many dismiss the walk of Christ by using present day circumstances to illustrate that it is impossible to do according to today’s standards. As early as in the garden of Eden, the pride and lusts of life was demonstrated in distinct ways.  It is
