We who are Born again are now sons and daughters of the Most High God and possess His Kingdom under the heavens.  We have been given God's divine nature through the gift of righteousness and are now expected to live as obedient chilcren of God.  Unless we understand Jesus as King over a territory, over a people influencing them and impacting them with His will we can not understand the importance of serving Christ as King.
