Originally from Colombia, but now a citizen of Canada, Lido Pimienta came to represent the future of Canadian music when she took home the 2017 Polaris Music Prize for her incredible debut album, ‘La Papessa’. The record is a vocal masterwork from the artist, layered atop exquisite electronic production and the tribal instrumentation of her people. Everything about her sound is futuristic, forward-thinking and a socially-conscious look at where she came from and the world she finds before her now.
