Baumeister, a successful businessman, convinced his wife that the bones were from a medical skeleton belonging to his late father, a doctor. In 1996, police murder investigations regarding several missing men intensified. Baumeister's wife became increasingly suspicious, and she allowed law enforcement to search the family's large property known as “Fox Hollow Farms.” Investigators unearthed nearly 10,000 bones and bone fragments burned and scattered throughout the woods.
