He exposes the lie the Corinthians had embraced—the belief that the Christian life should look like success, strength, ease, and even royalty. They wanted to be kings. Paul wanted them to see the cross. Already you have all you want! Already you have become rich! Without us you have become kings! And would that you did reign, so that we might share the rule with you!
