Synopsis
Hospitals are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and are supposed to be places of healing and rejuvenation. For most, a stay in a hospital could range from a few hours to several weeks or even months depending on the state of health of the individual. While science, medicine, and technology provide us with state of the art methods for treating illnesses once considered incurable, it is not infallible and death death inevitably finds us all at one point or another. When tragedy strikes, not all who enter the hospital depart on their way to recovery. Skeptics are quick to let us know that science offers no proof of life after death, and many find comfort in religious beliefs concerning end of life. Even if you are not religious, we know that energy can neither be created, nor destroyed. So what happens to the energy that gives us life when it departs our bodies? Do we, as a consciousness, cease to exist, never again possessing the ability to interact with the living?
