The mother of an 11-year-old girl could be deported and may soon be forced to choose between leaving her daughter alone in Canada or returning with her to Sierra Leone where her daughter is at risk of forced genital mutilation. Despite calls for change, Canada continues to deny child refugees the right to add their parents to their permanent residency applications.
