October 10th marks World Mental Health Day, and this year, the focus hits close to home for many teens – especially matriculants facing the pressure of final exams and big life decisions. For many young people, this time of year feels like a storm: sleepless nights, fear of failure, and the constant pressure to have it all figured out. WE HAD A CHAT TO ALISON SCOTT - Executive Principal at Bellavista School She has been in education for 28+ years, across all phases. Before joining Bellavista, she worked in mainstream schools (a former Model C school), then moved into independent/remedial education. Her roles included HOD (Head of Department) for Guidance. In 2009, she was appointed as Principal of Bellavista, and over time she has steered the school towards more innovative, research-based remedial and cognitive education programmes. She has extensive experience in teaching across the board and is a very well respected principal in South Africa. Bellavista is a private remedial school, but they also
