In this episode of the Crack House Chronicles, Donnie interviews Ashley McCraw, daughter of Walter Vernon McCraw who was last seen by his parents on July 6, 2018 when they dropped him off at the Waffle House on 1808 E. Dixon Blvd. Shelby North Carolina. An officer found Vernon sleeping in the grass with his leg in the road just down the street at the McDonald’s at 206 E. Dixon Blvd. on July 11. The officer confirmed Vernon left the area on foot. Later that day, someone turned in Vernon’s ID that was found near the old police department on Lafayette Street. According to Lieutenant Jason Benfield of the Shelby Police Department, many people knew of him and would come to his aid when he needed it. “A lot of people would see Vernon and see him in diabetic distress and call an ambulance because they knew he had health issues,” said Benfield.
