"Redeemed" is such a good word. It's a marketplace term that means "to buy back." In context, we picture our impossible "debt" exposed by the law and evidenced by our sin, which leaves us subject to a curse that we cannot "pay." Yet, there is a standing covenant made by God. God promised a blessing to Abraham. This blessing comes through the promised Messiah, given by God, who will pay our debt—one we could not pay.
