Most of our lives we have been encouraged to confront our fears and overcome them. Every now and then it's worth taking a moment and questioning conventional wisdom. For example, I’ve always wanted to ride a grizzly bear. So, should I just confront my fear of being mauled to death and hop on the next one I see? Maybe there is some wisdom in maintaining a healthy sense of fear. The author of Ecclesiastes certainly seems to think so, especially when the results of fearlessness could be fatal!
