Meghalaya rescue operation for 15 miners continues on the 16th day

With time running out to save 15 miners trapped inside a 370 foot illegal coal mine in Lumthari area of Meghalaya since December 13, the state Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said the state government has written to the Coal India seeking their special pumps and equipment to aid the rescue of these 15 miners. The Indian media which sensationally highlighted the recent Thailand cave excavation of young football team, sadly has failed to pressurize the Central government about this rescue operation which has entered its 16th day. This issue has only gained pace after a major leader of opposition citicised the prime minister on social media.
