Synopsis

Frances Shanahan visits the Royal Show in Stonleigh in England. She talks to Dr Antony Wilson of the Institute for Animal Health about the current bluetongue situation. And she meets an English dairy farmers who has changed from milking Friesian cows to milking buffalo. She also meets scientist and social historian Michael Conry who tells her about an alternative fuel widely used in Ireland in the past - Culm balls. Finally Macra president, Catherine Buckley encourages the public to take part in “Know your neighbour “ weekend.
