Molly Shannon plays Mary Katherine Gallagher, a character created for Saturday Night Live, who is a shy and quirky high schooler in a private, Catholic high school. When the opportunity arises to audition in the school's talent show, we breaks out of her shell in an attempt to reach her dreams of stardom.
