Synopsis

Rowdy Gaines is a three-time Olympic gold medalist swimmer, a U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame member and member of the International Swimming Hall of Fame. During the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, Rowdy won individual Olympic gold in the 100 meter freestyle and anchored both the 400 meter freestyle relay and 400 medley relay to Gold medals. After retiring, Gaines turned to broadcasting and is known as ‘the voice of swimming.’ He has worked with CBS, TNT and ESPN as a regular announcer for swimming and other events, and called his sixth Olympic telecast for NBC at the 2012 Games in London. He will again be part of the NBC broadcast team in 2016 for the Rio Olympic Games. Rowdy is currently an Ambassador for the USA Swimming Foundation and travels all over the country sharing the foundation’s mission of Saving Lives and Building Champions - in the pool and in life. Rowdy resides in Lake Mary, Florida with his wife, Judy and their four daughters.
